ABOUT ME
“A self-described flâneur, he walks the streets of Nairobi studying movement, language, memory, and the social textures that define urban existence.

Keith Ang'ana is a writer, editor, and historian whose work is rooted in close observation—of people, cities, and the quiet politics of everyday life.
His writing interrogates history not as a fixed archive, but as a living, contested space shaped by power, culture, and lived experience. Through essays, criticism, and literary work, Keith explores African identity, politics, art, and the intersections between the personal and the political.
His work has been published in leading platforms known for rigorous thought and cultural critique.

QWANI
Qwani is a youth-led writers and creatives collective. Under Keith's leadership, it has grown from a publishing platform for young writers into a multidisciplinary creative community.
Qwani began as a space dedicated to publishing young writers who lacked access to mainstream literary platforms. Over time, it evolved into a broader creative ecosystem.
Qwani operates as both a cultural archive and a living community—committed to experimentation, collaboration, and amplifying voices that exist outside dominant narratives.
The Collective Includes

CREATIVE PHILOSOPHY
Deep curiosity about people and place
A belief in art as social documentation
Storytelling as both resistance and record
Community as infrastructure for creative survival
Keith's work is driven by a belief that art is not separate from life—it is how we document, challenge, and reimagine the world we inhabit.
